Deadstock leather heels.
All leather shoes with warm russet colored snakeskin
across the vamp and along the sides.
Caramel leather heel, along the back...
and also down the front with the most charming cutwork detailing.
Lovely gored front with brown elastic inserts...
these are pull on shoes.
But also a wonderful faux front lace design
made with leather laces through metal gromets
and you can see the top of the tongue at the crest.
Really sweet!
Leather soles both inside and out.

These shoes are in excellent structural condition but have significant shelf wear. They have nicks, stains and scuffs in the leather... and yet as you can see from the soles these are deadstock shoes. The inside soles are similarly perfectly clean... so they clearly weren't resoled. This is obviously due to shelf wear... probably display models that got knocked about the store and then put on sale. There are two tiny holes in the shoes in corresponding sopts along the inside edge... just where shoes are typically joined together when put on sale. ve listed them, even in this condition, becasue they look structurally sound and are just SO stunning! This is such a good example of a 60's retro shoe that I could be wrong... maybe they're older! Could not find any info on the label... a real mystery! How fascinating. I've priced these shoes accordingly for the damage.

A rare example of a 1960s Ivy style sport shirt that synthesizes elements of the button-down and the shirt jacket. Designed to be worn untucked with Ivy-rise slacks or shorts. Wear it with shorts or high-water Levis.

The cloth is a 100% cotton oxford with a thick stripe of white, gray, and yellow.

The shirt has a tapered fit body, button-down collar with third back collar button, half sleeve with cuffed hems, straight-cut cropped shirt hem with adjustable side tabs, patch breast pocket, box pleat, and locker loop at the back.

Suzy Perette was not an actual person, but the name of a dress manufacturing company that made affordable versions of Parisian designs in the 1950s. The Suzy Perette silhouette of cinched waist and full skirt were extremely popular and a quality interpretation of Dior’s famous “New Look.”

The Suzy Perette Company was located in New York City at 134 W. 37th Street from 1949 to the early 1970s. The Suzy Perette name was a registered trademark of Lombardy Dress (founded as Lombardy Frocks in 1930) and was first used in commerce in 1946. The Suzy Perette name was registered by Lombardy Frocks in 1954. A sister label to Suzy Perette is the Gigi Young Fashions label (late fifties to 1966). This label followed the same successful style formula of Suzy Perette designs, but were sold as a less expensive line.

The company was started by Max Blauner who died in 1962. Sydney and Richard Blauner are also connected to the company, but the exact relationship is undetermined. The labels “Designed by Blauner” and “Jeunesse” were also owned by the Blauner family. Evelyn Dawson was the designer for Suzy Perette and Designed by Blauner in the late 1950s. Jeunesse was designed by George Halley.

A popular designer for the Suzy Perette Company was Victor Costa who worked for the company from 1965 to 1973.
